Competitive showoffs have very large appetency to be the best of every bunch. And their behavior always makes their happy building on others’ sad. That is my understanding about the competitive showoffs.

But I have some problem. There is a sentence: whatever is being discussed. I can’t understand it. But after I read the translation, I understood it. In fact, “discuss” means someone teaches you what you should do or should not do. And what about the “is being”? Why “being” is follow “is” I can’t understand clearly.

And the example, the first sentence is too long to understand. In this sentence, there are three words to connect, that, when and how. But through I read in detail, I understand. This story is a representative example.
